before and after

this is the living room. the big pile in the middle of the room is the carpet and padding we took off the stairs. believe it or not, the room was cleaned up quite a bit before this picture.

here were are at the new house. we don't know what we're in for!

this is from the living room, looking into the entryway. we still haven't refinished the stairs...more to come on that subject.
this picture shows the kitchen floor before we refinished the hardwood. when we tried to pull up the sticky linoleum tiles, the adhesive would not come off. we tried every adhesive remover on the market, from the natural green products, to the harsh chemicals that made me swoon and cough. nothing worked. finally, we just used comet cleanser and some good old fashioned elbow grease. after SEVERAL hours of scrubbing, it came off.

well, i was planning to post some pictures of the red squiggle painting. but, alas, i cannot find the cord to plug the camera into the computer. so i've decided to post some "before" pictures of our house. i'll post some "afters" soon!
